To Promote Exchange for A Better Future
The 21st Century Institute is dedicated to serving as a window reflecting history, culture and spiritual world of the United States and China, building a bridge to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between two countries, and providing a platform for Sino-American dialogue and cooperation in political, social, educational and business development.
The 21st Century Institute is a Chicago-based nonprofit educational organization that promotes and encourages understanding, communication, and cooperation between the United States and China. Established in the early 1980s by a broad coalition of scholars and civic and business leaders in Chicago, the Institute has been on the front lines of dynamic Sino-American relationship for decades. The founders believe that mutual understanding and Sino-American dialogues on different levels are the foundations and requirements for stable and productive relations between both countries.
With professional experience of transnational exchange and deep resources in China and the United States, the Institute has fostered constructive relations for the benefits of both countries in a variety of fields. Over the decades, the Institute has developed hundreds of programs in response to the shifting needs and requirements and focused its exchange and educational programs on governance and legal affairs, education administration, economic development and management, entrepreneurship, mass communication, cultural exchange, and other global concerns like environmental protection and urbanization. Through these outreach programs, face-to-face contact, and forthright exchange of ideas, program participants from two countries could find the common ground for problem-solving and draw strength from each other. We take pride in the work we do to promote constructive engagement between the United States and China and increase understanding of each through our programs.
Our professional, knowledgeable, experienced staff has decades of successful experience working with and creating programs for the United States and China.
