  • Most teaching positions will concentrate on conversational English teaching with the following responsibilities:

  • Providing students with conversational scenes in English with role playing, book reading, or use of audio/visual equipment, in order to help students familiarize themselves with standard spoken English.
  • Teaching students correct pronunciation of English words or phrases.
  • Teaching students correct expressions both in written and verbal English for situations encountered in daily life and business activities.
  • Training local English teachers whenever requested.
  • Holding lectures or workshops on specific subjects and occasions.
  • Collaborating with local English teachers in designing and developing English teaching curriculum and plans.

In Chinese middle or secondary schools, students range between 13 to18 years of age, and have basic and similar English level. But in private schools, students may vary greatly in terms of age, English level, and educational background. College students range between 18 to 25 years of age, and they are more advanced in English grammar and writing, but very limited in spoken English.
